Overview

We offer flexible one and three-day work experience programmes covering all major UK industries. Each programme has been designed to make delivering high quality, in-school work related learning simple, engaging, and easy to manage, giving students a realistic insight into the world of work without the need to leave the classroom.

How To Use This Resource

To run the in-school work experience programme, start by selecting the industry focus and length, either the one-day or three-day version. We offer five different challenges for every major UK industry, so you and your employer partner can choose the one that best suits their area of expertise and your students’ interests.

Employer engagement is a key part of the experience. Each employer should commit to a minimum of 40 minutes (either in person or virtually) to deliver an introduction to the challenge, give an overview of their industry, and take part in a structured Q&A session. To help prepare students for this, we provide a dedicated tutor session video guide and activity on how to ask insightful, relevant questions.

The rest of the day is fully video-led, meaning students can follow along easily while being stretched by the content. They work in small teams to complete their projects, developing teamwork, creativity, and problem-solving skills along the way.

At the end of the one-day programme, you can invite the employer back to judge the finished projects. For the three-day version, employers return for roughly an hour in the final session to watch group presentations and provide feedback, bringing real-world relevance and authenticity to the experience.
